Planet Post Up – Summer Solstice, Sun in Cancer, New Moon in Cancer

Happy Summer Solstice. The longest day of the year and the shortest night of the year (in the northern hemisphere).  Today marks the beginning of summer.  We also have the Sun now in the watery sign of Cancer.  Cancer is emotional and sensitive.  And very family oriented and nurturing.   A gentle energy.

There will also be a New Moon in Cancer on June 24, 2017.  New Moons start a moon cycle, so it’s an excellent time to begin things. Given that it’s a New Moon in Cancer, using this energy to start a new phase in your family life is ideal.  Home life, with your significant other, with your children.

Mars is in Cancer.  Not the best placement for Mars.  Pushing forward and forging ahead take a bit of a back seat. We’re more prone to our moods – good and bad.  And instead of going after what we want in an aggressive way, we can be more defensive.

Neptune is retrograde.  And will be until November.  So we’ve been delusional about (not wanting to face reality) may come back to smack you in the face.  It’s a harsh reality check.

Venus is in Taurus.  She rules Taurus (as well as Libra). So she’s at home with Taurus.  But, this placement can make us a little possessive.   So be mindful of your attachment when it comes to your relationships.

Looking ahead, July and August are full of fire.  After the calm, gentle energy of Cancer, comes the dynamic energy of Leo. And a lot of other corresponding fiery transits.

Summer’s here, sunshine and love, sensitive energy from the stars above…
